New Imporoved Course - 3rd Annual Green Run 5k

March 17, 2018

Registration includes a T-shirt designed by CMS students, after race snacks, bonfire, door prizes, awards for top 3 finishers per category, costume contest, and some St. Patrick's Day shenanigans. In the past we have run the Cross Country Course over at the CCEC, this year we are pleased to showcase the beginning of our outdoor classroom and a run up and down Chaffin Lane. The outdoor classroom is located on the North side of the Middle School Building. 

2nd Annual Green Run 5k Scheduled

February 13, 2017

Registration is now open for our 2nd annual Green Run is scheduled for March 18th, 2017. The race will begin at 10:00 AM. Please check out the 5k page for more details about the race. 

Cruiser Bikes

March 17, 2016

Check out our class set of bicycles. These provide transportaion for our 5th & 6th grade students to reach sites off campus. We use our 35 Cruiser Bikes to expose students to place based learning opportunities. Some of the core components of our program include outdoor science and writing to develop all of our sense so that we can experience the world around us. Without the bicycles we would be limited in our opportunities to do this. 

Green Run 5k & Eco-Fair

March 19, 2016

To raise funds, awareness, and sustain our outdoor education programs we are hosting our first annual Green Run 5k & Eco-Fair. You can check out more details on the 5k page. The event will take place at the Corvallis Community Events Center (CCEC) in the heart of town. Race day registration begins at 8:00, Race will start at 9:00, and the Eco Fair will run from 8-noon, Saturday, March 19th, 2016. 

 

The Eco Fair will have a number of booths showcasing some of current offerings to expand opportunities to the community beyon just 5th and 6th graders. Our Mission: We believe outdoor education can be a door to connect the schoolyard and community that motivates students intrinsically to show up, ask questions, and experience their education more deeply. This is our way to give back to the community and build student motivation. 

Scholarship

Currently we have funds to provide one Corvallis Middle School student with a scholarship towards attendance to an outdoor or science related summer camp.
